Seattle Surface Cleaners Featured in KING 5 News
Our graffiti removal work was highlighted in KING 5’s coverage of Seattle’s graffiti ordinance. We’re proud to be part of the solution — keeping storefronts clean and holding vandals accountable alongside the city attorney’s office.
Does This Sound Like Your Situation?
Seattle business owners tell us the same things. If any of these hit home, you’re not alone — and we can help.
Your Office Staff Has Returned — and You Need a Reliable Janitorial Team
Employees are back in the building, but your old cleaning arrangement isn’t cutting it anymore. You need a consistent, affordable team that actually shows up and does the work right — every single time.
You Arrive at Work and Find Urine, Needles, or Trash Outside Your Door
Morning after morning, the same mess greets your employees and customers. Human waste odors, drug needles, litter — it’s a safety hazard and it drives people away. You shouldn’t have to deal with this alone.
Employees and Visitors Say Your Business Feels Unsafe or Unwelcoming
Maybe it’s graffiti on the walls, grime on the sidewalk, or a lobby that hasn’t been properly cleaned in weeks. People notice — and when they don’t feel safe or comfortable, they stop coming back.
You Can’t Find One Company That Handles Interior Cleaning and Exterior Cleanup
You’ve googled. You’ve called around. Every company does one thing — pressure washing here, janitorial there — but nobody handles the full picture. You need one reliable team for all of it, at a price that makes sense.

Hi, I’m James Hebel, the Owner of Seattle Surface Cleaners
As a longtime Seattle resident and business owner myself, I understand what it’s like to run a business while dealing with the constant challenges of maintaining a clean, welcoming office — along with the ongoing headaches of exterior graffiti, debris, and human waste. Whether you need day porter services or complete facility care, it takes experience and expertise to keep your business comfortable for employees on the inside and presentable to your customers and community on the outside.
That’s why, in 2017, I started Seattle Surface Cleaners — a business built to solve the multiple problems that previously required multiple cleaning companies. Seattle business owners were losing profits and having trouble keeping their doors open because no one could handle complete cleaning, sanitation, and debris removal in one place.
When you call Seattle Surface Cleaners, you talk to a real person. We have relationships with each of our customers. You are our neighbor, and we take pride in your business, just like you do. We’re here to help you grow and thrive.
The person cleaning your building this month is the same person next month. They know your building, your tenants, and your standards. That kind of continuity doesn’t come from contractors cycling through every few weeks.

Our Happy Clients
41 five-star Google reviews — no incentives, no asking for favors. Just property managers and BIA directors who worked with us long enough to write something on their own.
“Highly Recommend Them!” Most mornings, when we show up to open our business, trash, graffiti, and even feces are strewn about the property. Some bicycles have been locked to our fences, and mattresses have been left in an alley. We were lucky to find SSC to handle this issue. They stop by three times a week to clean our property. I would highly recommend them if you are having similar problems.

Seattle Surface Cleaners has been a reliable partner for us in Capitol Hill. Their proactive team always addresses our needs before we even realize there’s a problem. Situated on Broadway East, we’ve noticed an increase in graffiti, and SSC is swift in tackling the task. Keep up the excellent work, and thank you for your service!

We’re proud to partner with several of Seattle’s Business Improvement Areas (BIAs), including the Chinatown Business Improvement Area and other neighborhood organizations. These partnerships mean we’re on the ground every day keeping Seattle’s commercial districts clean, safe, and welcoming. When you walk through a cleaner block in Pioneer Square or the International District, there’s a good chance our team was there that morning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions Seattle business owners ask us most.
How much do commercial cleaning services cost in Seattle?
We start with your budget and goals, then build a service plan that fits your property. Most recurring janitorial and day porter services range from $60–$85 per hour depending on scope, crew size, and equipment. Graffiti removal is typically $350–$750 per incident. Pressure washing runs $750–$2,000 per day depending on scope.
We pay our employees a true living wage — $27–$32 per hour — which means you get the same trained person who knows your property. Not a revolving door of workers. Our pricing is transparent, consistent, and explainable.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We provide free estimates, consultations, and on-site walk-throughs. The process starts with a quick conversation to understand your property, concerns, and budget. Then we schedule an on-site visit to evaluate the space and problem areas. After the walk-through, we build a clear service plan with pricing tailored to your needs.
Will we get the same cleaner every time?
We do our best to assign dedicated employees to specific properties so they learn your building, understand tenant patterns, and take ownership of the work. That consistency prevents complaints and ensures our clients stay with us long-term.
What is the difference between a day porter and janitorial service?
Janitorial service is scheduled cleaning — floors, restrooms, trash, and surfaces — typically done daily or after hours. Day porter service is active maintenance during business hours: spills, litter, restroom refreshes, tenant needs, and real-time property monitoring.
Most larger or public-facing buildings benefit from both: janitorial keeps the building clean, while a day porter keeps it under control.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes. We carry General Liability, Workers’ Comp (Washington State L&I compliant), and Commercial Auto. Additional insured certificates are available on request. Bonding is available if your contract requires it.
How do you communicate with clients?
However you’d like. We are easily reachable by phone, text, or email. Additionally, all recurring clients can elect to receive a dedicated Slack channel for real-time communication, updates, and requests. We share photos, service notes, and status reports directly — so issues get handled immediately in whichever format you prefer.
